WWII Medals!

Today was a great day for my family.  My grandfather received his WWII medals today.  Long overdue.  They will be something to always treasure.  I am glad he received recognition for protecting our country so long ago.  Thank you Grandpa!

4-H Has Begun 2012

Well it is 4-H Season again.  The kids are busy at work sewing their projects.  Here are some pictures of Maggie making her top.  She is doing a good job so far.  I hope she does well this year at judging.  It is so stressful for a mom!  The boys will start working on their projects soon.  I have to help them get a pattern traced so we can reuse it.  They will LOVE that.  They grumble through most of the projects, but they do like it when it is over and they can see their accomplishment.

Pinewood Derby Race 2012

Here are the cars lined up and ready to go!  Curt's is the one with the battery on top.  Maggie created the one with the bunny thing on top.  We have such a sweet Cub master that he lets the girls make a car and race after the official cub race.  Maggie was so happy to make one!  Curt had tons of fun too.

Doug's 13th Birthday!

I Can't believe Doug is 13!  Time flies.

He wanted Brownies instead of cake.  They were yummy!  Doug is going to run track this spring.  He loves video games (don't all 13 year old boys)  Minecraft is all I hear about...  He also likes hiking and asked for a camelback water thingy for his birthday. He has been wearing it around the house.  His voice is getting deeper by the minute and he is very funny.  He makes us laugh all the time.  He tends to be quiet and is the kiddo I have to make sure to connect with regularly or he could be overlooked.  Everyone else DEMANDS attention in some form or other.  Doug is easy going and relaxed about most things.  Nothing seems to stress him or phase him.  He is truly a blessing to have around.  Happy 13th Doug!

Feeling the Need

I am feeling the need to go to the temple.  I just want to be inside the walls where things are peaceful and serene.
These are pictures from the last trip I made to the temple.  This is the Columbus, Ohio temple.
I do miss my Palmyra, New York temple very much.  I am learning to deal with it.  :)

I just love the architecture of the temple.

It is beautiful in the sunlight with its sparkling marble.

I wish Columbus had stained glass like Palmyra.  Palmyra is amazing!
I guess the windows don't really matter much.  The peace is what I am after.  I can't wait to go back.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are some oldies.  Pictures of my Valentine.  Steve in Niagara Falls about 1996...Picture #2 Our picture we took for our engagement.  Picture #3  Steve's Fraternity picture.  This is what he looked like when we met.  Pretty cute huh?  Happy Valentine's Day Everyone.
