The Chicken Run is Complete!

On my way to the chicken coop...

These are some views on my way to the chicken coop.  The lovely crab apple tree in the front yard.

My favorite "girl"  She is always sitting in the window.  I think she really really wants to hatch something.

She is always puffed up and laying on the thermometer.  Maybe she thinks it is a big egg?

She is the sweetest and you can pick her up and pet her and love her and she doesn't care.

Here is how warm it is under her.  She always sits on the thermometer.  It is about 55 outside.  It is a warm 89 degrees under there.

Eggs Eggs Eggs

We got two double yokers the other day.  Yesterday we got 7 eggs.  Not bad for 12 chickens. 

Nesting Boxes and Eggs!

Here is some pictures of the girls.  Curtis took most of them so some may be blurry.  Sorry.  We are getting a few eggs a day.  Steve got the nesting box together today and we had an egg in there tonight when we checked on them before bed.

They are so curious.  They were all anxious to see what it was.

Peacock and Rooster!

Here is Mr. Peacock. Up in the window of our barn.

The neighbors rooster.  I call him Mr. Fancypants.  He thinks he is "All that" and then some!

 All their poof is starting to go away...feathers are coming out and they are definitely growing tons.

These are our little chicks.  They are golden comets and they will lay brown eggs.  I can't wait until the kids get home and see them.  They have wanted chicks for a long time.  I hope this chicken thing is as easy as they say...
