When we moved to Ohio we knew it would be a big change. We were moving from a postage stamp lot in the burbs to 6 acres and a 100 year old farm house. The land has a barn, garages, fruit trees, berry bushes and gardens. The kitchen needed updating and that is the first project we took on. We have been doing projects ever since. (although this isn't much of a change in life, we have been remodeling since we were married)
We love the old floor boards. We love the openess of the rooms, which is unusual for an old farm house.
What I did not know, or could truly understand when we moved here is that these would become part of all our wardrobes.
I can't believe we have these.
I can't believe I can make this.
I can't believe we help with all this.
I can't believe I learned how to do this.
I can't believe the kids aren't upset by finding this.
I can't believe I am not freaked out by this.
or this
I can't believe this is starting to feel like home. Finally. (sometimes)

I love country livin'. It's such a nice way to raise a family. You have such a cute blog, by the way.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful homestead! I think you are a very lucky girl indeed!
ReplyDeleteI love the country, and would not ever go back to city living. I would miss all the beauty of the country. I love your old house too! It has charm and character, and it is all yours :)
Have a wonderful Wednesday :)
How exciting that you have embraced & learned from all the changes in your life on your beautiful farm. Personally, I could gladly live w/o the blood & spiders (lol) but the rest just adds to a work that is hard but enjoyable & satisfying.
ReplyDeleteOK...something else...what did you do to get those little coffee cups on your entry headers? :-)
Blessings from Ohio (too)...Kim<><
Kim, I got my blog background from Leelou blog. You can click on it in the upper left hand corner of my blog. The backgrounds are free and oh so cute.
ReplyDeleteI like what you have done with the house and I love that you have learned all those things about living on a farm and it is much better for the kids in the country---but as your MOTHER I still don't like you all being in OHIO!!! Just a mother talking!!lol
ReplyDeleteI am sure glad you all decided to come to Ohio!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for showing! It's fun seeing what you are accomplishing from someone who is sitting in the burbs! (except maybe the mangled finger-ick)
