When it comes to being tidy my boys are lacking some sort of gene. Maggie has her moments but overall is light years ahead of the boys in the cleaning department. She dragged me upstairs to show me she refolded her clothes and organized her closet (for fun) . So of course I had to take a picture and then for fun and without warning (not that they would care) we took pictures of the boys closets.
Maggie's closet.
Curt's closet.
Doug's closet.
Jacob's closet.
Apparently there is some sort of substance on the shelves of their closets that makes all the clothes slip off and fall into big piles on the floor. How many times do you think I have washed clean clothes? I tell them to clean up the room and all the sudden I have 40 loads of laundry.
I can relate!
ReplyDeleteWhen our kids were younger, we started to confiscate their 'stuff'. If we told them more than once to clean up, and if it wasn't done in a reasonable amount of time, then into a giant black garbage bag it went! Into the garage, until they earned it back. We figured if it wasn't important enough to take care of and respect, then that meant that they wouldn't miss it. Let me tell you, we only had to tell them once to clean up :)
Worked like a charm!!!
The kids learned to respect their things and respect our home that their father provided for them :)
Oh the joys of parenthood .....:)
