Anyone out there? Do you have this problem? I clean out one area of the dining room...and amazingly it takes about a day for more junk to pile up there. I guess that is where the kids and hubby think it is a good spot to store their book bags and church bags. I have been trying to think of a magic solution...apparently it is too much trouble to keep their bookbags in the basement with the coats and shoes...Oh yeah see the shoes in the pic? Because and I quote..."Geeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeee Maaaa...we have HOMEWOooooorK!" Translation...they would have to walk up and down the stairs to get their homework...It doesn't matter that they walk up and down the stairs without any problem to go and play the Wii, or watch movies...or play with toys...hmmmm?
I am honestly trying to figure out a "solution" to this problem...It has tormented me...it kept me awake between 7:00 and 7:15 this morning...
I am considering just chucking them down the stairs when homework is done. What do you think?
The problem in our house is that as soon as we get a clean surface (table, counter) it's like a magnet for junk, especially in the kitchen. I think we need an alarm on it or something. So far the solution is to catch it as it's happening. The best solution is to train the family to take pride in a CLEAN dining room and to make sure their belongings are stored in THEIR areas (like their rooms!)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I noticed you know the Zvirzdins...believe it or not I knew Alex Zvirzdin when I was at BYU-Idaho. We were in Chamber Choir for one semester, Winter 2006 (right before he went on his mission). Crazy huh? Were you in the same ward or something?
I cannot believe you know Alex...His mom Catherine is one of the best friends I have in the whole world. They are a great family. We were in the same branch...Jacob and Doug were best friends with the youngest z boys and I had Leah as one of my YW. I'm amazed!
